First Donald Trump came for women, and I did not speak out …

poemIn a whirlwind of action, President Donald Trump on Monday and Tuesday attacked women’s rights, affordable health care and environmental regulations.

On Wednesday, he’s planning to go after refugees from war-torn countries and immigrants from Mexico.

All of this reminds me of Pastor Martin Niemoller’s poem¬†about the Nazis’¬†rise to power. Here is one version of it:

On Twitter, I decided Tuesday night to take a whack at summing up what had already happened in just a few days in the era of this absolute loser of a president.

That set off a chain reaction of comments from people who pointed out I had — alas — missed some pretty major actions.

And — in an optimistic (?) tweet:

Much more to come, I’m sure.

Stay tuned for Day 6, Jan. 25, 2017.
