Yael on the Trail

Time for some fun: Here’s my contest for the 2016 election season.

The  goal is to select winners in Kansas-side races and/or in Missouri-side races. Best part: There will be prizes!

Each winner — on Kansas picks and on Missouri picks — will get an expense-paid lunch with me after the elections. We can  talk about politics, gardening, running or anything else.

Here are the six contests to predict in Kansas, followed by the six in Missouri. Please answer “YES” or “NO” to each statement. Then fill in the tie-breaker on the presidential race.

Please read the simple rules at the end. DEADLINE IS NOON ON MONDAY, NOV. 7.

Thanks for reading and participating!

  1. All five Kansas Supreme Court justices on the ballot will be retained.
  2. Voters will approve the Amendment No. 1 regarding hunting and fishing rights.
  3. Kevin Yoder (Republican) will defeat Jay Sidie (Democrat) for 3rd U.S. House District seat.

  7. Who will win the presidential race and what percentage of the vote will that person get, to the hundredths of a percent? (Example: I am picking Hillary Clinton, 46.55 percent of the vote.)

RULES

Anyone can participate. That means politicians, non-politicians, Democrats I angered, Republicans I irritated, people who did or did not donate to the website. Anyone.

Send your predictions for Kansas and/or for Missouri to my email: yael.abouhalkah@gmail.com. That is the only place I will be looking for entries. (Election Contest is a good subject line.)

Make sure you predict the tiebreaker: Winner of presidential race and percentage of vote for that candidate.

Only ONE entry per person, per state. So you can send me your picks for Kansas contests and your picks for Missouri contests, in the same email or separate ones.

Deadline is NOON ON MONDAY, NOV. 7.
